One known healthy fruit is the apricots, it has beta-carotene that helps prevent free-radical damage and it also protects the eyes. The body also uses beta-carotene and transforms it into vitamin A, which helps stall cancer cells, especially those present in the skin. Another is the avocado; the avocado has oleic acid which is an unsaturated fat that helps lower the cholesterol in a person’s body. Avocado also has a good dose of fibre in it. Another healthy food is the tomato. Tomatoes have lycopene which is considered as one of the strongest carotenoids. Lycopene is also an antioxidant. Studies also show that tomatoes cut the risk of stomach and colon cancers if eaten regularly. The tiny raisins are really sought out by people who want to start eating healthy foods. Raisins are known to be a great source of iron, which helps with the transportation of oxygen to the whole body through the blood. Women are known to have less of iron, thus women should eat more raisins and other foods that are rich in iron, to prevent having anaemia. Artichokes are vegetables that are also considered as very healthy. They might look a little odd; they contain silymarin, which is an antioxidant that also helps to prevent people from having skin cancer. It also contains fibre that helps with your cholesterol. The squash, be it butternut, pumpkin or acorn, the squash has a huge amount of vitamin c and beta-carotene.

Eating healthy foods are important. These foods are actually the foods that are scene in your backyards and market places. People need not pay a lot of money to be healthy; just eat some common healthy foods and maintain it, do it regularly.
